Reflection
I don’t mean to sound morbid at all, but recently I have been thinking a lot about if I were to die randomly. I’m not suicidal or anything like that, I have just been trying to think of death in the most logical way possible. It may be partly because I have been watching House a lot, or it may be due to the sudden appearance of death in/around my life this year. Up until this past year...
Puppies, Children, and Such...
Hello!
I am not quite sure how long it has been since I last updated my blog. Life has been busy. I had hoped that only January would be hectic, but it seems to have carried over to February. Here we are over half way through February. Time moves so fast sometimes, but hopefully soon it will slow down a little, at least enough to catch my breath. Next week we have a day off and another day where...
Assualted in my Bed
This is the update that I hoped I would never have to write. I have heard the horror stories of my fellow SMs and of past ones, but I hoped, and literally prayed it would never be me. I am quite sad to report that it has happened to me, this morning of February 4, 2011, at approximately 1AM. I woke up shortly with a few strange feeling. It was soft and kind of ticklely. It took me a second or so...
Camping on Carlos (the island, not the man...)
Greeting!
I wrote this update about a week ago, I just haven’t been able to get online and put it up/send it out. It has been really busy around here the past three or so weeks, so I haven’t really had much free time. this is for the past two weeks or so, and I am planning to write a new one this weekend and put it up in a timely manner. I hope this blog brightens your day, or at least mildly...

Figuring it out...FINALLY
Hello!
As some of you may know, I have been having trouble figuring out what I am going to study in school, and more importantly, what I am going to do for the rest of my life. I have had many different plans, but they never seem quite right. Last summer I thought I had found the perfect one. I planned to study dental hygiene and then do that for a while and then finish up my accounting degree...

Pohnpei and Stuff
Hello there!
So much has happened these past two weeks. I have so many pictures to upload, so stay tuned. I will tell you about my trip over Christmas and such. first, let me start with before school ended. We had our Christmas program and that was somewhat of a disaster. The kids here can be such chumps. They were supposed to come for practice in the morning and then have the program in the...

Goodbye 2011
Hello!
First let me say Merry Christmas (a few days late), and Happy New Year! I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas, spent with family and friends celebrating Jesus. This year has really helped me realize the true meaning of Christmas. When I was a kid, it was mostly about the gifts, but the past few years the presents have lost much of the splendor they once held. That magical Christmas...
Happy Birthday!
Hey!
Another week down and we have made it to Christmas break! I hope that wherever you are, you are enjoying your break and taking it easy. There wasn’t much happening last week. I did have a birthday though, and that was kind of nice.
For my birthday I had a little party with my students. I got a popsicle for each of them, made cookies, and brought chips and candy. We just played and watched a...
Almost to Break
Hello!
I can’t believe it is almost Christmas time. time really seems to fly. Those of you at Andrews are already done with school. That must be nice. I hope that everyone has safe travels and that the weather is as pleasant as possible. I am really looking forward to the holiday break. Daniel and I are going to Ponhpei for Christmas. As of this morning, it is official. We have our plane tickets...
Christmas Wish List!
A Christmas Wish list:
It is times like these when I wish Santa were real. For those of you who don’t know he isn’t….disregard what I just said. I suppose even if there was a Santa, he probably would not make it out to Ebeye. Ho-hum. Well to those of you who are feeling in the Christmas spirit, if you want to send some of that spirit this way, please do. I think Christmas will be the most...
Happy Belated Thanksgiving!
Hey!
I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We are now on the home stretch to Christmas time. If you are in place with snow, would you do me a favor? Turn on some Christmas music, get yourself a nice mug of hot chocolate or tea, and curl up in a blanket by the window watching the snow fall. I can honestly say that I miss snow, heck, I even miss being cold. Hot is the only temperature...

Another Week Down
Hello There!
It’s been about a week since my last update, so it seems right to write one today. Last week was excellent, and this week is very promising. We had no school on Thursday and then had community service day on Friday, so it was a light week teaching. Then we found out that this coming Monday is election day for the Marshall Islands, and for some reason they are declaring it a national...
Another update so soon!
Hello there!
Another week down. I have been out here now for 6 weeks! Time has really been flying. I can’t believe that it is already almost the middle of November. I am sure those of you at Andrews can believe it, due to the change in weather, but out here, it is still hot and humid. The other day it was 108 degrees. That was intense. I feel like life back home with just kind of pause until I...
Update for 11-8-11
Hello!
Here we are at another week down. I hope things are going well for each of you, wherever you area and whatever you are doing. Let’s get to the updating, shall we?
I would like some ideas though. I have been here for 6 weeks as of Thursday, and I feel like I am not making a lot of progress with my kids in getting them to understand me. they still have a very limited comprehension of English....

Two Weeks Ago.....just posted now -___-
Hello there friends!
This week I have a long update. I feel kind of bad that these are such long updates. I hope you actually read them, but if not, I still enjoy writing them. Maybe someday I will compile them and make a book out of them, although, putting them all together will probably be more boring than just reading them like this. Oh well.
This week was tough. It seemed like I was burned out...
Two Weeks Down
So much has happened this week. After somewhat getting to know the kids, I have figured out their levels. There are a few kids who are so smart and quick. They get finished with things fast and then get bored. Then there are the average kids who do well enough. I have about 10 kids who are most difficult. I have two boys, Niaro and Anjer, who are best buds, but they are both so ADD. They are both...
Ebeye
Here I am typing another blog post even though I haven’t even posted the other one. My internet here is so slow and ridiculous. I can’t even open my email on my computer. It is actually kind of nice not using the internet every day. Hopefully, I can go to the internet café place and post this blog and the previous one tomorrow. We’ll see though, because I think I am going scuba diving for the...

In Limbo.
Hey there!
Here is the update on my SM adventure:
On Monday evening, I left Kenya, and after many hours of travel have arrived back home in California. It feels good, but weird to be back. I don’t know how long I will be here. If it were up to me, which it is not, I would already be headed out to the Islands. The hold up is the General Conference. They have yet to vote me in. Actually,...
Going Backward to Go Forward
I have been in Kenya now for one week, and I am leaving on Monday. Things happen fast. I was supposed to be here for 10months. Let me explain how things changed:
Before I left home for Kenya, I started to feel unsure, likeI wasn’t doing the right thing. I brushed it off and just attributed it to anxiety due to traveling and dealing with change. After a few days in Kenya, I was still feeling...
Destination:????
Hello!
I have decided to start this blog to keep anyone interested up to date on my adventure as a student missionary. If you aren’t interested, disregard, but if you are, feel free to follow my updates. So today is Airport awaiting the final leg of my journey. The only thing standing between me and Maxwell, my home for the next 10 months , is a 5 hour flight from here to Nairobi. I am really...
